The number one data strategy challenge for federal agency IT professionals and mission leaders is the same: insufficient communication between IT leadership and users of data.

Federal agencies are still being plagued by the age-old existence of silos that operate independently and may treat data as proprietary. The majority of both mission leaders (51%) and IT professionals (51%) report that insufficient communication between IT leadership and users of the data is their agency’s biggest data strategy challenge. Nearly 2 in 5 data and analytics professionals (38%) also see it as an issue.
