Visiting
The museum is located in Cambridge, UK.
As an independent not-for-profit museum and educational charity, we do have to charge for entry. Our prices are below. There is no need to book... unless you are attending an event.
Current school term time opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 5pm (last entry at 4.15pm). Local school term dates can be found on the local council website.
In school holidays we are usually open 7 days a week, 10am-5pm, except at Christmas. Check back for dates!
During the winter months, we close at 3pm. This will come into effect on Weds 5th Nov.
During term times we often have large school groups in the building, which will mean some areas will not be available for a short while. If you would like to know if we have a school in on the day you would like to visit, please call 01223 214446.
If you would like to book a school visit during the week, please see the link below.

Gift Aid
If you're a UK taxpayer, we would love you to support the museum by buying a Gift Aid ticket. It is slightly higher, but a small amount extra allows us to claim back 25% on the whole ticket cost.
So just by paying 1ドル.20 extra, a 13ドル.20 ticket becomes a donation of 16ドル.50.
It’s a small boost from you, but a big help for us - it supports our Learning programme and helps preserve tech history!
All you need to do is fill out a short form to confirm you're a UK taxpayer when you buy your ticket. Thank you!
No unaccompanied children Aged 14 or Under. To Accompany someone under 14, you must be 16 years or over.
No dogs permitted, except registered service dogs.
Annual passes are available. More information can be found on our Annual Pass page.
Unofficial Birthday Parties
We appreciate that our museum is a great venue for birthday parties and have created a specific early evening service to accommodate your special occasion. See our Childrens Birthday Parties page for more information. Therefore we do not allow birthday party bookings during our normal opening hours.
You can however still visit for a birthday, but food, drink, gifts and banners cannot be brought in to the museum. You must also contact us in advance so we can make our staff aware, and state that you have read this page of the website. You must also ensure you have enough adults to supervise the children on a one adult per six children ratio.
All members of the party must enter at the same time to ensure we maintain ratios, we can't process extraneous child tickets.
Entry fees for such occasions are based STRICTLY on adult and child entry fees and NOT the family discounted rate or any other concessions.
Please also note:
- CCH is a museum, not an arcade - everything switched on can be used, but guests must treat controllers, keyboards and joysticks carefully.
- Running in the Centre is not permitted.

Frequently_Asked_Questions
Q: When are you open?
A: We are currently open Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 5pm (Last Entry 4.15pm) We are usually open 7 days a week in Cambridgeshire school holidays. Our winter opening hours are 10am - 3pm.
Q: How do we find you?
A: The museum is very close to the Beehive Centre in Cambridge. From the Beehive Centre, take the 3rd exit off the roundabout and go over the railway bridge. Immediately after the bridge there is a very sharp, double back left hand turn. Take that turn into the commercial estate and follow the road around to your right. Just before the railway crossing, turn into Rene Court on the right and you will see us there.
Q: Do you have a gift shop?
A: Yes indeed we have a selection of gifts and souvenirs to purchase after your visit including t-shirts, mugs, keyrings, games and retro items to name just a few.
Q: Are we able to see old computers working?
A: Absolutely! Additionally, many of our exhibits are hands-on so you can actually use them. This has always been the driving ambition of the museum, to allow visitors to interact with past technology and to understand what computing was like from the very beginning.
Q: I'm a school teacher - do you have facilities for educational visits?
A: Yes, definitely. For additional information on the array of exciting educational workshops available at the Centre for Computing History, please see our School Visits page or email us for further details and booking information at: education@computinghistory.org.uk
