What do the lights on your Pixel Buds charging case mean?

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Google Pixel Buds 2a

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a LED light indicates the battery status of the earbuds or case, depending on whether the case is opened or closed:

Earbuds status light (opened case): To quickly check the battery level of your Pixel Buds when they’re in the charging case, open the case lid.

Solid white

Pixel Buds are fully charged.

Breathing white (each pulse lasts for 2 seconds)

One or both earbuds are charging. Case charge is more than 20%.

Blinking slow orange

Pixel Buds still have charge left but the charging case has less than 20%.

Bouncing fast white (each pulse lasts for one second)

Pixel Buds is in pairing mode. If you press and hold the pairing button for 3 seconds during the setup process with a new device, pairing mode will begin automatically.

Case status light (closed case): The light on the front of a closed charging case will indicate battery levels of the Pixel Buds charging case itself when plugged in or when the lid is recently closed. If no light appears when you do these actions, there isn't enough battery to charge the earbuds.

Solid white

Plugged in (wired or wireless charger): Charging case battery is full.

Unplugged: Case’s battery is more than 20%.

Solid orange

Unplugged: Charging case battery is less than 20% (less than one full charge left for the earbuds).

Breathing orange

Pixel Buds charging case battery is charging and less than 20% (less than one full charge left for the earbuds).

Breathing white (each pulse lasts for 2 seconds)

Plugged in (wired or wireless charger): Charging case battery is charging.

Blinking fast orange

Pairing or factory reset failed.

Google Pixel Buds Pro

The Pixel Buds Pro LED light indicates the status of the earbuds or case depending on if it’s opened or closed:

The Pixel Buds A-Series (also referred as Pixel Buds A) LED light will indicate status of the earbuds or case depending on if it’s opened or closed:

Solid white

Pixel Buds are fully charged.

Solid orange

One or both earbuds are charging.

  • Plugged in
  • The lid is recently closed
  • After pressing the button on the back of the case when the case is closed

If no light appears when you do these actions, there isn't enough battery to charge the earbuds.

Solid white

Pixel Buds charging case battery is full, or able to charge earbuds for at least one full charge.

Blinking orange

Pixel Buds charging case battery is less than 20% (less than one full charge left for the earbuds).

Google Pixel Buds

The Pixel Buds charging case has two lights, one inside the case between the earbuds and one on the front of the case near the USB port:

Pixel Buds are fully charged.

Solid orange

One or both earbuds are charging.

Case status light (outside light): The light located outside the case near the USB port will indicate battery levels of the Pixel Buds charging case itself when plugged in or when the lid is open. If there is no light, there isn't enough battery to charge the earbuds.

Solid white

Pixel Buds charging case battery is full, or able to charge earbuds for at least one full charge.

Blinking orange

Pixel Buds charging case battery is less than 20% (less than one full charge left for the earbuds).

Solid orange

Pixel Buds charging case battery is charging.

  1. To quickly check the battery level of your Pixel Buds when they're in the charging case, press the case button or open the lid of the charging case.

  2. If you have green LED, that means your Pixel Buds are good to go. If you have an amber LED, that means the battery in your Pixel Buds is critically low.

One solid green LED

The Pixel Buds battery is fully charged.

One pulsing green LED

The Pixel Buds are charging.

The Pixel Buds battery is critically low.

How to check the battery level of your charging case

  1. If your charging case is empty, the white LED lights show the battery level of the case itself.
  2. If your Pixel Buds are in the charging case, you can press the case button to check your Pixel Buds' battery or the battery in the charging case.

3 solid white LEDs

The case battery is at 75% or higher.

2 solid white LEDs

The case battery is between 50-75%.

One solid white LED

The case battery is between 25-50%.

One solid amber LED

The case battery is critically low.
