Dispute, report, or cancel a payment

You can dispute unauthorized Google Pay transactions and cancel certain payments.

Step 1: Check if the payment went through

  • You can't dispute a payment until it’s finished.
  • The amount shown for payments that are still going through might change.
  • When you stop a payment, it might take a some time before you get your money back.

Step 2: Check if someone you know made the payment

If someone in your family or a friend used your Google Account or your payment method, go to the relevant section below.

Cancel a Google subscription

Important: When you stop a subscription, you won't get the money back for payments you already made. You can't change your mind about stopping a subscription, but you can always sign up again.

Step 3: Dispute a payment you didn't make

Dispute a payment for Google products
If you think someone made a Google Pay or YouTube payment that you didn't know about, you can say "no" to the payment. Learn how to report a problem.
Dispute a payment you don’t recognize in the Google Pay app or on the Google Pay website
If you find a payment that you don't recognize, contact you bank or the store where the payment was made.
