Add or move contacts

You can save names, email addresses, phone numbers, and more in Google Contacts.

Contacts saved to your Google Account will sync with Google Contacts and all your Android devices.

Add a contact

  1. On your Android device, open the Contacts app .
  2. At the bottom right, tap Add Add question.
  3. Enter the contact’s name and an email or phone number.
    • To add more name details: Tap Add fields, then, tap the field type you want to add.
    • To add a photo: At the top, tap Add picture. Capture or select a picture, then tap Choose.
    • To customize how your contact appears on calls in the Phone app : Add a calling card.
    • To enter more information, like a street address or notes: Tap the field to edit, or tap Add fields to add another type of field.
  4. When you're finished, tap Save.

Add a calling card

You can customize how a contact appears on calls. When you add or edit a contact in the Contacts app:

  1. At the top of your contact entry, tap Add calling card.
  2. Capture or select a picture.
  3. Tap Next.
  4. Select a font and color for the contact's name.
  5. Tap Done.

Move a contact

You can move a contact from other accounts into a Google Account.

Moving a contact deletes it from the original account.

  1. On your Android device, open the Contacts app .
  2. Tap the contact you want to move.
  3. At the top right, tap Contact settings Move to another account.
  4. Choose the Google Account you want to move the contact to.
