Builds of x13as and tramo-seats for use with gretl on Linux

x13as x13as-linux-64.tar.gz
tramo-seats tramo-seats-linux-64.tar.gz
  1. System requirements: You'll need a 64-bit system with these libraries:

    libgfortran.so.5
    libgcc_s.so.1
    libquadmath.so.0

  2. Download the file or files you want from the links above. Keep track of the download location!

  3. In a terminal window, do:

    cd /
    sudo tar xvf <download-location>/x13as-linux-64.tar.gz # and/or
    sudo tar xvf <download-location>/tramo-seats-linux-64.tar.gz

(replacing <download-location>, of course). This will unpack the selected program into /opt/x13as or /opt/tramo.

  4. In gretl go to the menu item /Tools/Preferences/General and select the "Programs" tab.

    • For x13as, set "Path to x12arima" to /opt/x13as/bin/x13as

    • For tramo-seats, set "Path to tramo" to /opt/tramo/bin/tramo

And that should be all.

If you have an older Linux system you may be able to find packages that work for you in these locations:

gretl/files/x12a

gretl/files/tramo

In each case, look for the .deb or .rpm files, depending on what sort of Linux distribution you're running (debian-based or redhat-based).
