Electron is still slow and takes up a lot of CPU, and what past contributors believe to have broken the browser version of Chronos.

Perhaps it might be a worthy endeavor to migrate the desktop app from Electron to a more user friendly and widely used desktop platform.

Describe alternatives you've considered
We have optimized bundling in version 15.0, but it seems like qt, gtk, or x11 might be worth investigating for a future migration.
