API Key (non-existent for free accounts)? #8312

I first used your coding about 6mo ago and it worked flawlessly. I've tried to use it a few times recently and it gives me an error about the API Key expiring (for Flickr). I only have a free Flickr account so I'm not eligible for them to issue me one, so is there a workaround to this problem?

There is no workaround. It is currently not possible to download from Flickr using gallery-dl without a Flickr Pro TM️ account / an API key.
The flickr code needs to be rewritten or at least extended to be able to use the website itself instead of relying on the API.

Thanks for your reply here. I have no idea how to do what you recommended so I'll just standby until someone else has the same issue and knows how to write code.
In the meantime, do you know any good alternatives (that don't require an API) to get the job done via Terminal?
