I recently purchased an Intel Arc B580 after seeing its impressive Stable Diffusion XL benchmark results on Tom’s Hardware. However, after getting it up and running under Linux, the actual performance has been much lower than expected.

Issues

• SYCL backend: Crashes consistently when running conv2d.
• Vulkan backend: Does not crash, but performs significantly slower than expected.

Performance Comparison

All images are generated with Illustrious 1.0, using vulkan backend, at 1024x1536, LCM 8 steps.

• Arc B580: 46s (5.75 s/it)
• AMD 7600XT: 30s (3.75 s/it)
• AMD 9070XT: 9s (1.2 it/s)

Environments are near identical. Fedora 42 on all three systems.

is anyone else seeing similarly poor results under Linux with the B580?
