Project Activity Question #111

Dear @krowinski,

i want at first thank you for your library. Your work gave me insights to the replication protocol of MySQL and also MariaDB in a language that is easier to understand then the slim MySQL Dev Documentation. Also your project gave the possibility to check if a specific project is possible with little to nothing additions.

So i have opened a Pull Request a month ago to check if your project is active which i was first expecting because of the release of a new version in January this year. Unfortunately i never got a comment or at least a ping or deny to this. Which is ok. I know we all have more to do then looking to our Github Projects. I just ask because i am currently working on an additional Pull Request with a functional addition and i will send it in to get feedback and bring it to a state that you are feeling good on merging it and bringing the library forward.

The question for me is - will i get any feedback? Is your project active? In another Issue for Symfony compatibility i also found a linking to a fork of your library with it's own releases - for whatever reason. All fine. But as i want to bring something in to this original library to support an official version i just kindly ask what your plans maybe are. I do not want to ask for support and a lot of time by yours generally but for your plans in handling on pull requests? Do you need and want a ping? Or would you like to see people forking your project and work on changes, quality and extensions on their own because you do not want to be bugged and just have this on Github for yourself? All answers would be fine to me.

And so i appreciate your time to maybe give some answers. Thanks!

Thanks for the Feedback! I am sure then there will be maybe more upcoming and good to know that it is not bothering you when you get a ping.

Like i said ... time is limited is an absolute fine argument that i understand. There is nothing more value then time on earth 😉
