Message translation sample doesn't seem to be working #925

I deployed the cloud function according to the sample for message-translation.
However, none of the messages got translated. What was shown in the firebase console logs was simply "Function execution took 6 ms, finished with status: 'ok' ". There was no error.

Am I missing something?

Given that your function finishes with status 'ok' but no translations are happening, it's likely that the function isn't encountering the data it expects, or is exiting prematurely.

Steps to Debug:

  1. Logging: Add more console.log() statements inside the function to trace what's happening.

  2. Input Data: Verify that the data the function expects (e.g., text messages for translation) is correctly being sent to the function.

  3. Dependencies: Make sure all required modules and services are properly configured and working as expected.

  4. Review Code: Check if any condition is causing the function to exit before it performs the translation.

  5. Local Testing: Test the function locally using Firebase emulators to see if the issue persists.

  6. Firebase Console: Review Firebase Cloud Function logs for additional details or errors that may not be displayed.

Provide more information if you've already checked these or if the issue persists.
