Higher inrush-current when activating WiFi in newer Core-versions? #9355

Maybe a slightly strange question, but is it possible that the current core versions, compared to the versions before
for example mid-2022, cause a higher inrush current when activating WiFi?
How do I get that?
After the firmware update of an older module with an ESP32-pico-D4 chip (with an admittedly weak power supply/decoupling)
there were suddenly (almost) endless brownout resets.
The effect could be recreated with an ESP32-PICO-Kit V4 on a not-so-good USB cable.
You can also see the voltage drop on the power LED.
If, with a bit of luck, the WiFi was able to be switched on without a brownout, there would be no more problems.

I'am using Arduino Release v2.0.14, I roughly estimate that the problem wasn't there before version 2.0.6.
Has anyone else noticed this effect?
Is it possible to bring the inrush current back to the level it felt like two years ago? Or a tricky soft start?

Regards.
