Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-4 Won’t Boot with 7~36V DC Input #11126

Hi everyone,

I’m using the ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-4 board and I’ve encountered an issue when trying to power it via 7~36V DC input.

When I power it via USB Type-C, it turns on, and pressing the BAT_PWR button starts the demo.

But when using 7~36V DC, the power LED and display turn on, but the ESP32 doesn’t boot.

Has anyone faced this issue before? Is there a way to configure it to boot automatically with DC input, or do I need to modify something (e.g., clearing the demo program, DC changes more than 9 , 12)?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

oh.. if you add a 3.7v battery to the BAT port than you can power it over 12v. havent managed to get it to autostart. love the fact that it's square but men this is a shitty board haha

Hello, I fixed the problem without modifying the PCB. Connecting a 3.7V battery to the battery input(BAT-Socket) fixed the problem of not booting via terminal DC input. The problem was in the power path design and I2C pins of the SW6106 IC.
