Steps to reproduce

  1. Using npm version 8.19.2 from the Node 18.12.1 package run "npm install" after extracting the zip or forking the repository.

What is expected?

The code will compile/build.

Solution

npm install --legacy-peer-deps does get you through the build with many deprecated warnings.
