Arduino 2.3.6, high CPU load when idle #2771

Description

Describe the problem

I have a problem with Arduino IDE: when idle with an open ESP32 sketch (without compilation process) there is high CPU load. I’ve tested this on versions 2.3.2 and latest 2.3.6. The CPU load reaches approximately 34%. When I close the IDE, the CPU load drops to normal levels (between 2% and 9%).

Could you advise on any possible solutions or improvements to resolve this high CPU load when the IDE is idle?

To reproduce

Just open any ESP32 sketch.

Expected behavior

I expect normal CPU load from 2% to 9%, as in Legacy IDE (1.8.19).

Arduino IDE version

2.3.6

Operating system

Windows

Operating system version

Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, Intel i5-1135G7
