Raspberry pi5 and WIFI ac Mode #1831

Hello, I don't know whether the topic has been already solved. I launched the server further to having set the wifi region to France but when I try to start RaspAP in AC mode, the hotspot doesn't start. I wonder whether someone has had that issue and managed to solve it.
Thanks

here is the log if it can help:

wlan0: interface state UNINITIALIZED->COUNTRY_UPDATE
wlan0: interface state COUNTRY_UPDATE->HT_SCAN
HT40 channel pair (34, 38) not allowed
Fallback to 20 MHz
Failed to set beacon parameters
wlan0: Could not connect to kernel driver
Interface initialization failed
wlan0: interface state HT_SCAN->DISABLED
wlan0: AP-DISABLED
wlan0: interface state DISABLED->DISABLED
wlan0: AP-DISABLED
wlan0: CTRL-EVENT-TERMINATING
hostapd_free_hapd_data: Interface wlan0 wasn't started
nl80211: deinit ifname=wlan0 disabled_11b_rates=0

I'm using France WIFI locales

I have tried all channels 1 by 1.

Thanks
Laurent

These are common issues when trying to configure an 802.11ac (VHT) access point.

  1. HT40 channel pair (34, 38) not allowed - the channel pair you're trying to use isn't allowed in your country or by your device/driver.
  2. Fallback to 20 MHz - because the HT40 pairing is invalid, hostapd falls back to 20 MHz.

You shouldn't need me to tell you this, google is your friend 😉

Solution: use a different WLAN country, such as US. Good luck

managed to get through the configuration issue by setting all parameters (in UI and in raspberry-config) to US and the setup was acepted but throughput isn't still great (like 30Mbps). not sure on how to debug this one. Would someone have an idea ?
Thanks

This often happens when an 80MHz 802.11ac channel falls back to 40MHz due to overlapping BSSIDs. When the AP detects other networks on portions of its 80MHz channel, it will automatically reduce its channel width to avoid interference. Usually this means falling back to 40MHz or even 20MHz. Again, the hostapd logs will clearly indicate this (please don't post them).

Solution: survey your wireless neighborhood and choose a less congested channel.
