Equivalent antenna dB of Pi Zero W2?
I'm trying to use a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W inside a mobile enclosure and having some antenna strength issues. In the past I've tried buying some usb wifi adapters but have been hitting issues with some chipsets not playing nicely with Linux
So two fold question here, if I was to get a wireless USB antenna, what dB so I need to be looking for to be superior to the built-in board antenna? And also does anyone have a recommendation for a usb wifi adapter with an external antenna that they know works with the Raspberry Pi?

Re: Equivalent antenna dB of Pi Zero W2?
It depends what you are trying to do. Antenna 'gain' can be a bit of a misnomer - you achieve more sensitivity in one direction by sacrificing sensitivity in other directions. You could build a massive antenna with lots of dipoles and it will be massively sensitive - in an angle of about one solid degree. If you want gain in many directions then you need multiple antenna as you see on MIMO routers.abishur wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 8:51 pmI'm trying to use a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W inside a mobile enclosure and having some antenna strength issues.
