Evaluating some Mathematica code on RP5 to test

Tue Aug 20, 2024 7:54 am

Hello everyone,

The following file is a Mathematica notebook file written on MacOS:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/nb4mjni8 ... oylzb&dl=0.

All the code snippets work fine on MacOS, but some do not on RP4.
Could anyone who has RP5 test all the codes in the above file and report back here if they all work?
If they all work, I want to buy RP5 as soon as possible.

Good news:- All the graphs look correct

Bad news:- none of the play buttons work despite enabling dynamics.

Initial sound always says "There are not enough shared memory handles to play this sound"

The other sounds struggled on the first run with messages about kernel, dynamics and generally unhappy.

Second run all but the initial sound said no audio device found which I presume is a trivial problem.

Pi5 8GB X11 Kernel8, 3.5mm audio

EDIT: For initial sound on closing warning box it gave "INTERNAL SELF-TEST ERROR: hashmap|cpp|524"

Thank you very much!

I had no error message when controlling GUIs.
The first output cell produces a very annoying sound, and other output cells do not produce any sound on the RP4.

Is there no sound output device on your RP5?
I see the following messages in your screenshot:
No audio output devices were detected on the system.

Sound normally plays ok out the 3.5mm socket from other programs. I didn't look into it, with alsa, pulse audio, pipewire and wireplumber all in the melting pot these days, that is too many rabbit holes for me.
