Mathematica asks for an activation key and or password ...
I've just downloaded and installed Mathematica from the Wolfram web-site on my Raspberry Pi 4. When I launch it, I'm prompted to launch an activation key and/or password. I contacted Wolfram as where I might find said key/password and they've been singularly unhelpful :
"Please go to https://www.raspberrypi.org/ for help.
Wolfram does not provide assistance with Raspberry-Pi issues.
I hope this helps.

Can any one help?

I believe you need to install the Raspbian version?
Go to [Menu] --> [Preferences] --> [Recommended Software]
Click the [Programming] tab and select Mathematica.

I had this same problem. It turned out to be a permissions issue. Mathematica needs to be able to see the /dev/fb0 and /dev/vchiq files.
After some research, it seems that adding the user to the 'video' group and rebooting the Pi fixes this issue. At least, it worked for me. Good luck. :D

Thanks, DungeonMaestro, I'll give that a try when I have a chance. :) :)DungeonMaestro wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 6:04 pmI had this same problem. It turned out to be a permissions issue. Mathematica needs to be able to see the /dev/fb0 and /dev/vchiq files.

Verified.
I installed under the pi account, but then added a user account for myself. Mathematica worked under the pi account. Was asked for activation under my own account. Added my account to 'video', and rebooted.
All good now. Thanks!
