Hello from my RaspberryPi. I wanted to give a huge shout out to 'GhostRaider' for making this post and keeping it updated. I had run into problems trying to get my unit up and running but following the sage guidance found here I have my 3 B+ up and running with the xfce desktop. Today I was able to load up some python in the Thonny IDE and make a LED go Blinky Blinky Blink! Haha.
PS: if this post comes out in a weird format its because I am writing this from the command line using 'Lynx'. Its the only browser so far that doesn't lag down my Pi unit.

Pi set-up: Pi 3B+ 1Gb ram, 16GB SD. RaspiOS-Lite w/ xfce4. Boots to command prompt with no auto start or auto log-in
