How to remove default RPi desktop? [Solved]

Tue Nov 11, 2025 8:00 pm

EDIT: I just removed pcmanfm and openbox package and "apt autoremove" removed lots of stuff. Also removed some individual packages. Problem solved.

I upgraded to Raspi OS Trixie from Bookworm using this command:

Code: Select all

sudo apt full-upgrade -y -o Dpkg::Options::="--force-confdef" -o Dpkg::Options::="--force-confnew" --purge --auto-remove rpd-wayland-all+ rpd-x-all+
I am using GNOME desktop. Althought it updated my GNOME successfully, it also installed default Raspberry Pi Desktop and its software I think. So, how can I remove the default desktop packages without breaking my GNOME?
