PNG over video Raspberry Pi 2 Zero

Hi,

Trying to get a text to display when I press a button over a running video for 5 seconds. As I want a particular look I've made it as a PNG file with transparent background. Using chat gpt and it seems to work by using vlc for both the video and the photo but the image keeps flickering when over the video. Apparently can't download png viewer due to my current version of raspberry pi and had no luck with feh. Any suggestions thanks!
