"Enter key" types ASDFG and no "enter" action

Something happened with my newpi500 this weekend. The lights blinked and now the enter key and the backspace key type stuff on the screen. How do I fix this?

I'd suggest contacting the seller you purchased it from for RMA

Ok, Mathematica is not available on trixie yet (wish i had noticed that before upgrading). So put bookworm on an SD and booted the pi500+ off that. Used that to put bookworm on the nvme. And somewhere along the way the rp2040 for the keyboard got reset. The keyboard is now working normally and I have Mathematica for my homework.
