Hello everyone,
I want to make new warehouse in WM Module. Is there any way to change the material from non-batch to batch-managed in the material master without consume the existing stock. There are almost 300 type of material and 8000 final-product. Thus, consuming the existing stock is not available for us.
Without batch management, how can I follow material movement by individual (like every product as unique)?
Thank you in advance.

Hello @hasancangunal
I'd suggest purchasing SAP tool as described in the note 533276 - Setting the batch management requirement
I have used it in a project and have very positive impressions. It simply does work. You need to purchase it separately, but it saves tons of otherwise manual work.
Best regards

Read first KBA 1873593 - Batch management flag is not possible to set / unset
Consider creation of new materials, move inventory creating batches and discontinue the old ones.

Hi,
In SAP, you cannot simply switch a material from non-batch-managed to batch-managed if stock already exists — SAP requires that all stock be cleared first. Without batch management, the only way to track each product individually is to use serial number management instead of batch management
SAP restriction: Once stock exists for a material, you cannot activate batch management in the material master until that stock is consumed or cleared.
Standard process: Clear unrestricted and reserved stock. Change material master to batch managed. Re-post stock with batch numbers (via MIGO).
This is why your scenario (with 300 materials and 8000 finished products) is problematic — clearing stock is not feasible
