Private Enterprise Development in Low Income Countries (PEDL)

Since the launch of the initiative in 2011, PEDL has awarded 255 Exploratory Grants and 50 Major Grants. PEDL-funded projects have produced 99 refereed journal publications, including 21 in the top five journals in economics. We expect the flow of publications to increase as more of the 168 working papers from existing projects make their way through the publication process.

4th Special ERG Call on Climate Change

PEDL invites applications to the fourth special ERG call for research on firms and climate change. We particularly encourage proposals related to adaptation and resilience in the face of climate change, and projects on mitigating pollution and improving local environmental conditions. 36th Regular ERG call

PEDL invites applications to the 36th regular ERG call. We are particularly interested in proposals related to the work of British International Investment (BII), the UK's development finance institution. Guidance on research topics and applying can be found on the information page.
