DP20705 Conflict and Investment: A Review Across Health, Fertility, Education, and Economic Activity
This paper provides an overview of the literature on the bidirectional relationship between conflict and private and public investment. We consider different dimensions of investment choices, including health, fertility, migration, education, and economic activity of firms and the government. The review puts a particular focus on the existing evidence for causality running from conflict to investment in these different dimensions, and from investment to conflict.
