Stefano is a Senior Economist at the Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation (CC-ME) of the European Commission's DG Joint Research Centre (JRC) where he conducts research on counterfactual impact evaluation methods in support of EU policies. Since 2012, Stefano is also Adjunct Professor of Statistical Modeling, Data Mining & Machine Learning at University of Milan-Bicocca where he is also Member of the PhD Board of the PhD Program in Public Health Epidemiology, Statistics and Economics. Stefano obtained a degree in Economic Statistics from University of Milan-Bicocca (2009) and a PhD in Economics from University of Milan (Italy) in 2013. Before joining the European Commission, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods of the University of Milan (Italy). His research interests are mainly related to Education and Health Economics, Counterfactual Impact Evaluation and Applied Micro-econometrics. On these topics Stefano has published in various journals, including Econometrica, The Review of Economics and Statistics and The Journal of the Royal Statistical Society (Series A).
