Niels-Jakob Hansen

Niels-Jakob Hansen is an economist in the Western Hemisphere Department of the IMF. Prior to that he spent more than three years in the World Economic Studies Division of the IMF’s Research Department, where he contributed to chapters of the World Economic Outlook. Previously, he worked in the IMF’s Asia Pacific Department and Finance Department. He has participated in missions to Korea, Cambodia, Czech Republic, and San Marino. His research interests include monetary policy, public policy, and labor market issues. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Institute for International Economic Studies at Stockholm University, an MPhil in Economics from University of Cambridge, and an MSc in Economics from University of Copenhagen (cand polit). Before joining the Fund, he was at the OECD and the Danish Ministry of Finance.
