Alexandra Varadi

Alexandra Varadi is a Senior Research Economist at the Bank of England, where she specialises on topics related to the household sector and the housing market. Prior to this, she worked on a range of financial stability issues, such as financial and economic risk-assessment, macro-financial linkages and macroprudential policy design for banks and non-banks. She has a PhD in Economics from Oxford University and an MPhil in Economics from Cambridge University. Alexandra’s research interests include both macro and micro topics related to: household behaviour; the interaction of household balance sheets with the financial sector and economic activity; and macroprudential policies and their effects on the real economy.
