Overview

The successful candidate will support the administration of our donor-funded research grants, contributing to the smooth delivery of major international research initiatives. Working closely with the Projects team, the intern will gain hands-on experience in research management and international development research administration. Internship Objectives
The Project Intern will gain hands-on experience with the administrative running of CEPR’s various projects. Under the supervision of the Projects Lead, and in close collaboration with the Projects Officers, you will provide assistance to the projects team with the management of all CEPR’s donor-funded projects. In particular, you will learn to, and assist with:
• The drafting of documents such as research contracts and contract addenda
• Processing payments and raising invoices
• Updating the project database and various project websites
• Attending project meetings, including supporting online events
• Proofreading documents such as reports or website content
• Updating financial tracking documents
• Assisting with project reports
• Formatting various documents, including research notes and research papers
• Working on updating IT Systems
Person Specification
We are seeking a bright and enthusiastic individual with excellent administrative and organisational skills. Relevant experience in project and budget management is highly desirable.
In addition, he/she will have:
• A (recent) university degree (or graduate student)
• Knowledge of working with financial reporting systems and financial administration. Budgetary management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hectic and rapidly changing environment, particularly with deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and teamwork skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High degree of familiarity with the MS Office suite, particularly using Excel.

An exciting opportunity for a Dissemination Intern at a leading European center for economic research
CEPR has over 1900 researchers in its network and publishes 1000+ Discussion Papers and around 700 columns summarizing the research every year, as well as organising or participating in more than 250 conferences and events. Our busy dissemination team promotes all these activities across 4 websites and more than 10 social media channels, as well as through a variety of outreach emails and newsletters.
Internship Objectives
You will gain hands-on experience in the effective communication of economic research to diverse audiences
Tasks would include:
- Assisting in creating regular and engaging content for social media, website news items, and newsletters, including some writing and design work.
- Assisting with data entry and maintenance, to ensure that our dissemination is targeted and evaluated correctly
- Interacting with our Events, Projects, and Publications teams to promote their work.
- Assisting the Publications team in updating and maintaining accounts for our Discussion Paper subscribers
- Assisting with preparations for our flagship annual Symposium (to be held at Sciences Po in December)
This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Economics, Communications, or related fields. Some experience with social media management and software such as Adobe Express or Canva would be preferred, but all training will be given.

Overview
CEPR operates more than eight websites through which its global audience access and use information. Working as part of the IT & DevOps team, the post-holder will support CEPR users & researchers as well as Wintel and MacOS across desktop and infrastructure, supporting and assisting the evolution of the existing platforms and will provide exceptional service support to the organisation’s operations.
Key Responsibilities (overview)
We are seeking an experienced, highly organised, and proactive IT Officer to oversee and maintain our core IT infrastructure, systems, and support services. You will be responsible for managing both on-premises and cloud-based environments, ensuring robust network operations, system availability, and secure provisioning across a mixed estate (Windows, macOS, Linux). The role will suit someone with strong technical skills, a service-oriented mindset, and excellent communication abilities.

- Manage and maintain Windows Server 2019 environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Oversee Windows Hyper-V and Failover Clustering to ensure high availability of virtual infrastructure

Overview
The Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) is looking to recruit a dynamic, dedicated individual with an interest in cutting-edge, policy-relevant research in development economics for a full-time Research Officer position within the suite of programmes that CEPR runs for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, which in spring 2024 were brought together under the Growth Research Platform (GRP). They are made up of:
- Structural Transformation and Economic Growth (STEG, https://steg.cepr.org), which aims to provide a better understanding of structural change, productivity, and growth in low- and middle-income countries
- Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL, https://pedl.cepr.org/), which aims to better understand what determines the strength of market forces driving efficiency
- Reducing Conflict and Improving Performance in the Economy (ReCIPE, https://recipe.cepr.org/), which focuses on economic and growth issues in conflict affected and fragile countries.
We envisage that in the first instance the Research Officer will work primarily on the STEG programme, but in future the work will be extended across the other programmes.
Key Objectives/Tasks
- Collate text for calls for research proposals and co-ordinate with the Senior Research Officer (SRO) and the individual programmes’ scientific leaders on timings, dissemination, etc.
- In collaboration with the SRO, carry out the first stage evaluation of research proposals for scientific merit and policy relevance.
- Assess scientific progress and review outputs and results of active research projects from an academic standpoint.
- Working closely with the SRO, disseminate the results from awarded projects by editing researchers’ research/policy briefs, writing project summaries and/or paper executive summaries when needed, writing website content, and preparing social media posts.
- In collaboration with the SRO and other senior CEPR staff, produce reports for FCDO outlining the programmes’ progress and achievements against its original timeline and objectives and identifying key policy-relevant projects to highlight.
- Support overall programme management by helping to organise conferences and workshops and assisting the Scientific Coordinators of the programmes by smoothing the grant application progress and tracking the progress of grants.
- For submitted proposals and ongoing grants, liaise between researchers, the Scientific leads and the CEPR Grants Coordination team.
- Attend and possibly report on GRP events.
