SOLAR INFO AND SPACE WEATHER
The Sun Today, with Movie Summaries
The latest solar images and movies from AIA, along with light curves and the day's summary of events, can be seen on the SunToday page. Particularly noteworthy items are also available through an RSS/podcast feed.
Heliophysics Event Knowledgebase
The Heliophysics Events Knowledgebase (HEK) guides solar and heliospheric researchers to the most useful times and locations and suggests reasonable fields of view and durations by providing a means of search via features and events. This system can be accessed directly from the web using iSolsearch, through SolarSoft routines and via web services. The HEK system tracks data requests using the Heliophysics Coverage Registry (HCR). You can find datasets associated with particular events using iSolsearch, or using the HCR to view recent or popular data requests, or make more advanced searches for specific datasets. If no datasets that meet your requirements are available, you can request cutouts using the Get Data page.
Some AIA events are also available on SolarSoft Latest Events.

Forecasts of Photospheric, Coronal, and Heliospheric Conditions
A prototype space weather forecaster is currently running at LMSAL.

Solar/Heliospheric Forecast: Currently based on SOHO/MDI data, the LMSAL forecast software assimilates observed magnetic fields into a full-sphere model, applies a PFSS coronal field model, and a simple ballistic advection model for the solar wind to forecast solar and heliospheric weather (excluding explosive and eruptive events).
