The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) are proud to announce the return of National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (NLPPW), taking place from October 18–25, 2025.
HPD’s recently upgraded, award-winning Real Time Field Force (RTFF) Mobile App allows inspectors to capture the violation information on site, just as they do for privately owned property inspections, when conducting court-ordered inspections at NYCHA properties.
Housing Ambassadors offer free assistance with preparing and applying for affordable housing, and can give support in more than 20 languages, including American Sign Language. You can filter your search by borough, preferred language, and accessibility needs.
The new ABCs of Housing is now available. The ABCs of Housing is HPD's guide to housing rules and regulations for owners and tenants where you can learn about staying in your apartment safely, resources for new affordable housing, rental assistance, and more.
Two years after the release of the Where We Live NYC Plan—the culmination of an inclusive and comprehensive process to identify goals, strategies, and actions the City of New York will undertake to advance fair housing through 2025—we've made significant progress toward the plan's six goals.
