Fungi Coral Spot Fungus

Latin name: Nectria cinnabarina

Size: Approximately 2mms across.

Distribution: Found throughout the UK.

Months seen: October to December.

Habitat: Found on the bark of dead deciduous tree branches.

Special features: There are two types of this fairly common fungi. Some are pinkish in colour, while others are more orange. Both forms are poisonous.
