SINGAPORE — The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has deployed more assets to help in the search-and-locate operation for the missing Beijing-bound Malaysia Airline plane MH370.

The Ministry of Defence said yesterday that it has sent two more Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) C-130 aircraft, a Republic of Singapore Navy Formidable-class frigate — the RSS Steadfast — with a Sikorsky S-70B naval helicopter on board, a submarine support and rescue vessel with divers on board, as well as a missile corvette, the RSS Vigour.

On Saturday, Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen had pledged additional assistance to his Malaysian counterpart, Mr Hishammuddin Hussein.

The RSAF deployed a C-130 for the search and locate mission on the same day. That aircraft returned to Singapore that night.
