[geeks] Embedded flash player proxy?

For example, I want to use a proxy server in the US to watch a video
on Scifi.com.
I can use firefox with foxyproxy, which changes my http proxy, or manually
set it and the http will now go through the proxy, but how do I get the
video player to use the proxy?
Currently I use an ssh session which acts as a SOCKS version 5 proxy,
but can do just about anything I want. 
I'm using Windows XP/SP3 currently but could switch to Linux if I had to.
