Once the squid are on top, the action is pretty frantic with the big Humboldts grabbing just about everything that falls into the water. Up near Bodega Bay, one group of fishermen observed the squid trying to grab seagulls with their tentacles as the birds hovered around the boat. That must have been a little creepy.
