What a great editor. I don't understand why it is not more in widespread use. I like it as much as emacs or vi. And writing your own macros is easy and very powerful ; it's much easier than in emacs !

I use jEdit all the time, but version 5.6.0 is very unstable in Windows (try open some ten documents, search for a common word, and then try view the results in each file, my 5.6 program crashed on that). I replaced it by version jEdit 5.5 and that works so far as it always did. Great programmer editor if you know RegExp! --- --- --- P.S. Stick to the default Metal look and feel, and no "experimental features" (strangely enough in 5.5 you can't copy paste in the search field with other look and feels).
