Do carbon emission trading schemes stimulate green innovation in enterprises? Evidence from China
2021, Technological Forecasting and Social ChangeCitation Excerpt :To mitigate carbon emissions, innovation is becoming a major focus in climate change policy discussions (Metz et al., 2007), particularly green innovation. Green innovation can save resources and reduce environmental pollution by improving production efficiency (Sun et al., 2017; Ooba et al., 2015). Research on green innovation, which mainly refers to green technological innovation, originated in the 1990s.
Government's awareness of Environmental protection and corporate green innovation: A natural experiment from the new environmental protection law in China
2021, Economic Analysis and PolicyCitation Excerpt :Prior studies have proven that green innovation is positively correlated with firm competitiveness and technological innovation (Tang et al., 2018; Xie et al., 2019) and can help firms mitigate the adverse impact of economic activity on the environment (Horbach, 2008; Song and Yu, 2018). Meanwhile, green innovation has become an important means for heavily polluting firms to achieve sustainable development (Ooba et al., 2015). However, the effect of government regulation policies on green innovation is still not clear.
Ecological-economic efficiency evaluation of green technology innovation in strategic emerging industries based on entropy weighted TOPSIS method
2017, Ecological IndicatorsCitation Excerpt :It is more important for strategic emerging industries to develop and strengthen green technology innovation for achieving sustainable development (Hai-xia and Zhi-he, 2015; Cheng-lin et al., 2016a; Miaomiao et al., 2014). Green technology innovation does not only improve the utilization efficiency of energy and nature resources to achieve the carbon emissions and energy conservation, but also continuously improve the ecological-economic efficiency of strategic emerging industries (Ooba et al., 2015; Byron et al., 2015; Li and Luo, 2015). At present, the utilization of energy and nature resources in China is characterized by low overall utilization level, extensive utilization mode and backward utilization technique.
