You say...
Nectaris, AKA Military Madness is my type of jam. I absolutely adored Advance Wars, and this is a similar type of game. You control military units on a turn-based map, each of them having different strengths and weaknesses, and the aim is to win battles by forcing mismatches on your opponent. you can utilise terrain (or be hindered by it), and each scenario will have a different objective. This game is very well presented if functional, but there's a lot of game here. It also has a 2 player option! Great game.
