Central American Pygmy-Owl was photographed in the Veragua Rainforest
on the Southern Caribbean side of Costa Rica west of Limon in March
of 2011. This owl was
really bold.
I slid down a hill to within just a few feet of this bird and he didn't
even seem to be interested in me. It was surprising to be so close in
broad daylight and this owl just payed me no attention. I assume he
figured that he was just out of my reach. This is a very small bird
not much bigger than some sparrows.
