X1
Button Radio
1997
The X1 Button Radio, launched in June 1997 at a price of 9ドル.50, is a sign of Sir Clive going back to his roots: another tiny radio, once again billed as the smallest in the world. While it probably is not quite the smallest, it is indeed very small: the radio is the size of a 10p coin, weighs less than half an ounce and fits inside one's ear. An aerial is built in, and tuning is performed automatically across a range of FM frequencies (88-108 Mhz).
Although the device is remarkably small, this smallness can be a problem - tuning in particular is reported to be difficult because the controls are so small.
