Several distinguished researchers at NTNU have been honoured with ERC grants.
The European Research Council (ERC) is dedicated to advancing high-quality research by providing funding to Europe's most exceptional researchers and innovative ideas. Researchers themselves propose the topics, which are then selected through a highly competitive process. Receiving an ERC grant is considered the most prestigious forms of research funding.

Recognizing NTNU's ERC excellence
Rector Tor Grande hosted an ERC celebration where our ERC winners from the last three years were invited along with deans, vice-deans, and department heads. The ERC projects were presented in dialogue with Pro-Rector Toril A. Nagelhus Hernes, where important questions about the conditions for groundbreaking research and the development of large projects were discussed. The celebration concluded with dinner and the opportunity for more informal dialogue across the ERC projects.
