- For the purpose of predicting bloom formation of Microcystis aeruginosa in eutrophic lakes, the relation between environmental factors, growth activity and accumulation on the surface of the lake has been investigated. As a result, it was confirmed that bloom formation requires a condition in which all of phosphorus, nitrogen and light quantity were satisfied during the period of rising water temperature. In Lake Kasumigaura, it was predicted that bloom would not occur if there was a significant decrease in nitrogen concentration before the timing of phosphorus concentration increase in lake water from June to July. In addition, it was revealed that the diarrhea-causing bacterium, Arcobacter spp., Is present in high concentration in sewage and drainage canals in Bangkok, Thailand. This revealed that control of Arcobacter spp., Which has not received much attention so far, is important for hygiene management.
