  • Converted to a Charles Lawrence Class High-speed Transport at Boston Navy Yard, Boston MA.

  • During World War II USS Loy (DE-160) was assigned first to convoy duty to the Europe-Africa-Middle East Theater and later after conversion to High-speed Transport APD-56 to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater as flagship for TransDiv One Hundred-Six CAPT.
