20 March 1943: Keel laid by the Dravo Corp., Wilmington, Del.

04 September 1943: Launched and christened, sponsored by Mrs. Marie Breeman Schellgell, niece of the late Chief Turret Captain Breeman

date unknown: Towed from Wilmington to the Norfolk Navy Yard and completed there

12 December 1943: Commissioned at the Norfolk Navy Yard, Lcdr. Edward N. W. Hunter, USNR, in command

26 April 1946: Decommissioned at Green Cove Springs, Fla. after 2 years and 4⅓ months of service

29 October 1948: Transferred to China, renamed T'ai Chong (F-24) (escaped with Nationalist Forces to Taiwan, struck in December 1972, hulk used as fill in pier ramp construction)

22 December 1948: Struck from the NVR
