  • 28 July 19443: Keel laid by the Bethlehem Hingham Shipyard, Hingham, Mass.
  • 14 October 1943: Launched
  • 03 November 1943: Transferred to Great Britain as Lend-Lease, commissioned as HMS Halsted (K-556)
  • 03 November 1944: Struck from the NVR
  • 11 June 1944: Torpedoed off Cherbourg, France, by German torpedo boats Jaguar and Mowe
  • 28 March 1947: After being cannabalized for spares she was sold to Dutch shipbreaker R. V. Holland Shipbreaking Yard

    Reynolds 161k HMS Halsted at St. Georges, Bermuda, more than likely just after being commissioned. Newly commissioned American destroyer escorts were sent to Bermuda for crew shakedown training.
