Another increasingly important distinction is electricity generated publicly 
for the grid
and electricity generated privately for use by off-grid individual persons or 
families.
Tracking privately-generated and privately consumed solar and wind energy is 
difficult!

Attached are the updated data and graphs for the U.S. renewable energy survey 
as issued by the Department of Energy for 2015. The final numbers are lower 
then the previously shown estimate. The graphs illustrate somewhat 
unanticipated trends. Enjoy.
