Mathematica Home Edition released

Wolfram Research on Thursday announced the release of Mathematica Home Edition. It’s a personal-use version of the company’s renowned computational software used in science, engineering and mathematics fields. It costs 295ドル.

Mathematica Home Edition contains the same functions that can be found in Wolfram’s recently released Mathematica 7. That includes image processing, parallel computation, and astronomical, geographical and life science data. New user interfaces are employed in the Home Edition that make it easier for users to generate results.

Users can utilize built-in chart capabilities and other graphics options, or perform computations using symbolic and numeric capabilities. Mathematica Home Edition features data processing capabilities like exploratory data analysis, as well, enabling users to generate historgrams, bincounts, cluster location and other analytic results.

More than 4,500 examples of ways that Mathematica can be used in life science, physical science, engineering, creative arts and other fields have been published as part of the Wolfram Demonstrations Project, a free online resource for Mathematica users.

Potential uses include solar system mapping, stock and investment analysis, weather pattern analysis and much more.

Mathematica Home Edition requires an Intel-based Mac.
