"What Treacy proved that day in Limerick (when he won World xc in the mud in 1979) is that we’re certainly not a soft nation when it comes to cross-country running. Never have been, never will be....
It’s no exaggeration to say the cancelling of any cross-country race in this country because of some rain is a bit of a running joke, even if the biblical rainfall amounts of the last few days might scare off some of the softer runners."
‒Ian O’Riordan writing with disdain in the Irish Times about how Ireland is now cancelling xc races when it rains. The article is entitled, "Did you hear the one about the cross-country races cancelled because of rain?"

We're stunned that the 2028 Olympic track schedule makes the 400/400h basically impossible for SML. Bobby Kersee is irate, but World Athletics has been willing to amend the schedule in the past for stars like Michael Johnson and Allyson Felix. Will they do it again? Plus what doubles are doable? Which are difficult? And are there morning finals? Are the repechage rounds back? *Full schedule
