Food Plant: Populus alba (White Poplar), Populus x canadensis (Canadian Poplar), Populus nigra (Black Polar), Populus nigra cv. 'Italica'(Lombardy Poplar), Salix alba (White Willow), Salix fragilis (Crack Willow), Salix pentandra (Bay Willow) and Salix purpurea (Weeping Purple Willow).

Notes: The lower surface mine has a strong central fold and the frass is in two longitudinal strips, with the cocoon forming between these (as shown). An uncommon miner in the Netherlands. P.connexella and P.populifoliella are shown here on the same leaf of Populus x canadensis (Canadian Poplar).
